Company history

November 1980
MC Power System Services Co., Ltd. established in Osaka as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation to share and support the work of the Power Systems Division of Mitsubishi Corporation.
February 1981
Full operation begins after Mitsubishi Corporation concludes an “operating agreement” with MC Power System Services for on-site transportation of spent fuel from nuclear power plants.
March 1982
MC Power System Services receives qualification to act as a representative of Mitsubishi Corporation for the work of withdrawing spent nuclear fuel from the Kansai Electric Power Company.
October 1983
MC Power System Services approved as prime contractor of the Kansai Electric Power Company.
September 1994
Management policy changed to include every type of power plant (not only nuclear, but also hydro and thermal power) in the scope of business and to establish a nationwide network by placing branch offices in major cities. Headquarters relocated from Osaka to the Marunouchi district of Tokyo.
June 1998
Business expanded to include industrial power generation facilities (private power generation).
April 2003
Head office moved from the Marunouchi district to the Shinagawa district of Tokyo due to office relocation of the Power Systems Unit of Mitsubishi Corporation.
June 2005
Company name changed to Mitsubishi Corporation Power Systems, Inc.
Capital increased to 300 million yen.
May 2009
Head office moved from the Shinagawa district to the Marunouchi district of Tokyo due to office relocation of the Power Systems Unit of Mitsubishi Corporation.
April 2014
Nuclear fuel business was transferred from the Power Systems Unit of Mitsubishi Corporation to a dedicated nuclear fuel business segment. As a result, the scope of business handled under the Mitsubishi Corporation Power Systems name has been expanded.
